Recognition Programs


The National Skeet Shooting Association and its generous sponsors honor competitive shooters through a number of recognition programs at regional, national, and international levels. Inclusion is based on highest placement in points races for each category, with points being based on shoot scores and finish, the number of shooters in an event, shoot difficulty factor, and other criteria.

    Recognition of high-volume shooters registering a minimum of 500 targets in a year

    Shooters honored for meeting NSSA standards and showing greatest improvement

    Zone recognition for 2003-2008, now replaced by Pilla Class All-American
  • NSSA Hall of Fame

    The most prestigious honor given to an NSSA member, based on lifetime achievement

While the headliner event of the Skeet Hall of Fame Banquet on Monday night was the induction of three new honorees, several annual awards were presented to shooters, clubs, referees, and an association. Reserve Practice Fields for World Shoot Reserve Practice Fields for World Shoot

Shooters attending the World Skeet Championships at the National Shooting Complex can reserve a field that will allow them to practice anytime throughout the shooting day. Practice field rental is available for Wednesday and Thursday, September 26-27, prior to the competition beginning on September 28. Three men will receive NSSA’s highest honor on October 1, with their induction into the NSSA Hall of Fame. Jamie Gaines, Larry Woo, and Bill Harder will be the 2012 inductees at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet. Tickets for the Hall of Fame Banquet are now available. Due to the recent increase in target cost, it has become necessary for clubs across the country to consider the fees they charge for tournaments, and many are raising their fees.
