Swift Is NJ Champion
Timothy Swift won the New Jersey State Championship at M&M Hunting Preserve last Saturday, finishing with a score of 91 in the 100-bird event. Grace Callahan was the NJ Lady Champion at 67. Non-resident Champions were Jared Rumer at 93 and Lady Champion Deborah Davis at 76. Gary Phillips won the 50-bird 5-Stand event. Wendell Cherry Is U.S. Open Champion
It was a three-peat of sorts for Wendell Cherry, last week’s winner of the 2013 U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship at Back Woods Quail Club in South Carolina. Cherry competed against 1027 other shooters to take his third U.S. Open championship, having previously won in 2003 and 2006. 2014 Championship Tour Announced
Dates and locations for the 2014 Championship Tour have been determined, including the five Regional Championships, U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship, and National Sporting Clays Championship. Interested clubs submitted applications to host the Regional Championships, and National Delegates within each region voted on their championship location. Mike Raahauge
NSCA extends its condolences to the family and friends of Mike Raahauge, a long-time NSCA member club owner and operator in Corona, California, who died on Monday of cancer. North American Cup Standings
FITASC shooters aiming at the North American Cup now have one of two qualifying shoots behind them, with the second required event upcoming in June. The North American FITASC Championship will be held at Northbrook Sports Club in Illinois, June 27-30. Registration is at Winscoreonline.com.
