Mike Raahauge
NSCA extends its condolences to the family and friends of Mike Raahauge, a long-time NSCA member club owner and operator in Corona, California, who died on Monday of cancer. North American Cup Standings
FITASC shooters aiming at the North American Cup now have one of two qualifying shoots behind them, with the second required event upcoming in June. Tom John Wins CA Championship
Tom John won the California State Sporting Clays Championship last weekend at Quail Point Hunt Club & Sporting Clays. Almost 300 shooters participated in the May 1-5 event, with 250 in the 200-target main event. Curtis Lessel was runner-up, and Nick Ida finished third. Alexandra Wampler was the Lady Champion. Instruction Email Scam Resurfaces
In an apparent scam that recycles every several months, NSCA members and staff have again been receiving emails lately from an individual who claims he wants to book instruction for a group of shooters from foreign countries. When recipients respond, the person elaborates with details about the group’s plans, including the need for hotel accommodations. 2013 Great Lakes All-State Teams
NSCA has completed the 2013 Great Lakes All-State Team lists. The NSCA annually selects an All-State Team for each state, consisting of 18 shooters each: five shooters from the Open category, one from each class, and one from each concurrent. Team selection priority is Open, concurrent, then class. The team is sponsored this year by Great Lakes Sporting Arms.
