Giambrone Is Perfect at Poco Loco

Scores at the 3rd annual Poco Loco Skeet Shoot at St. Joe Valley Conservation Club (IN) would have been exceptional for any event, but for a 400-target .410 shoot, the results were historic. HOA Champion L.P. Giambrone finished the two-day event with a perfect 400 in .410, the first time such a feat has been recorded in NSSA’s registered target history.

Runner-up with a score of 397 was Becky McCumber, and Brent Edwards was third with 395.

In addition, a total of 11 scores of 100 were recorded. Along with Giambrone’s four perfect 100s, Becky McCumber had two, and David Starrett, Bruce Poyer, C.W. Parks, Jr., Brent Edwards, and Alex Hopkins each had one.

The primary sponsor of the shoot was John Haugh, and others were John Ramagli of Kolar Arms and John Waters. According to Ramagli, it was an exceptional weekend for Kolar: all of the top three finishers were shooting Kolar guns, and all but one of the perfect 100 scores were shot with Kolar .410 tubes.

The shoot was limited to 80 participants, with an intense shooting schedule of two flights each morning and two each afternoon. According to Ramagli, there were “great targets and great weather,” and the shoot was such a success that plans are already being made for next year’s event.

“The sponsors would like to offer our sincere thanks to the volunteers at the club for their administrative help and for handling the shoot so beautifully,” said Ramagli. “We especially want to thank Al and Trish Magyar for their hard work and contributing so much to the success of the shoot.”
