Clubs Can Benefit From Offering CLM

NSCA member clubs have a benefit that allows them to introduce new shooters to registered sporting clays without requiring them to first join NSCA: the Complimentary Limited Membership. By offering the CLM to shooters, member clubs can increase the number of participants in registered shoots while cultivating future participation.

Last year, 1630 Complimentary Limited Members were registered with NSCA.

Complimentary Limited Memberships are for shooters who want to try registered shooting at no cost for membership. It allows a shooter to compete in registered tournaments for the current shooting year. He or she can not have been a member of NSCA in the previous three years.

While it doesn’t include all the benefits of a full membership, such as voting rights, a CLM provides quarterly issues of Sporting Clays magazine, eligibility for the SIAI Gun Floater Insurance program, a membership card, rule book, and shoot record classification card.

Here’s how it works:

  • Before a non-member’s first registered shoot, he or she must complete an NSCA Complimentary Limited Membership form.
  • The CLM form must be submitted to the club or shoot management prior to the first registered shoot.
  • The club submits the form to NSCA with the shoot report.
  • The CLM shooter DOES NOT submit the form to NSCA; it can only be accepted from the club.
  • At the end of the shoot year, NSCA will provide a membership renewal form to the member for conversion to a regular membership, if the shooter wishes.

Please note that the Complimentary Limited Membership form has been revised. Clubs should download the new form .
