Due to the recent increase in target cost, it has become necessary for clubs across the country to consider the fees they charge for tournaments, and many are raising their fees. The National Skeet Shooting Association and the National Shooting Complex are, unfortunately, in the same position. NSSA is raising fees for the World Skeet Shoot for the first time in many years by $2.00 per 100 targets.
Also, the Advisory Committee submitted a World Shoot format change to the Executive Committee to help facilitate greater participation in both the Main Doubles Event and the Champion of Champions Event. The Executive Committee approved the changes, and the results are as follows:
The Mini World will remain a two-day rotation, the same as last year. The Main Doubles event will be moved back to Monday, October 1, with the rotation times remaining the same as before, beginning at 9:00 a.m. All other events will move forward one day, with the World Shoot still ending on Friday, October 5.
The NSSA Hall of Fame Banquet will also be held on Monday, October 1.
The Champion of Champions event will be open to anyone who would like to participate and be shot as an option on the last box of the four guns (12, 20, 28 and .410) in the main event, with the same payouts as before and for a World Championship Title.
The 2012 Skeet World Championships are scheduled for September 28 through October 5 at the National Shooting Complex. You can download the registration form here.
